Mt Abram Ski Area in Greenwood is seeking several candidates to fill open rental tech positions in our Mainside and Westside Rental Shops. Job responsibilities primarily include customer service working with kids and adults, fitting guests for ski or snowboard boots, sizing rental skis and snowboards and adjusting the bindings, checking in and out rental equipment, making minor repairs to ski/board equipment, filling online rental orders, light cleaning and start up/shut down duties, running the cash register on occasion, assisting customers in retail at times, and generally being a welcoming and informative ambassador for our guests at Mt Abram.

Mt Abram Ski Area in Greenwood is seeking one individual to fill an open retail clerk position at our Mainside Rental / Retail Shop. Job responsibilities primarily include customer service, stocking and inventorying, making sales, checking in and out rental equipment, filling out paperwork for online rental orders, light cleaning and start up/shut down duties, and cash register start-up/close. We are looking for a dynamic individual that will generally be a welcoming and informative ambassador for our guests at Mt Abram. While this position will start out light on managerial responsibilities, we hope to find somebody looking for growth opportunities with an interest in design and retail ordering in the future.

We are looking for Lift Operators! Our fun and diverse team of operators works both indoors and outdoors while assisting our guests at the ski lifts.

Ski lifts are surprisingly easy to operate and there is no mechanical experience necessary. The ability to ski or snowboard is not required for this position but there are plenty of opportunities to enjoy the slopes while working. Our operators have a great mix of social interaction and also enjoy plenty of mountain solitude!

Are you ready to take your skills to the next level in a hands-on, outdoor environment? Mt. Abram is looking for an experienced Lift Mechanic to join our Mountain Operations team. If you have at least 1.5 years of experience in lift maintenance, auto repair, or electrical work, this role is a perfect fit for you. Here, you’ll be part of a team that keeps our lifts running safely and smoothly for our community of skiers and riders.

Duties Include:

  • Performing advanced maintenance inspections and repairs according to Aerial Tramway and B77 codes, as well as manufacturer recommendations.
  • Reading and interpreting drawings and electrical prints with attention to detail in documenting all work.
  • Using power tools, rigging, and welding skills to ensure all lifts are operating safely and efficiently.

Requirements: To succeed in this role, you should have lift maintenance experience or a strong background in auto or electrical repair. You should be a self-starter who thrives working both independently and in a team. Physically, this role requires repetitive bending, stooping, and lifting up to 75 pounds, along with the ability to work safely at heights and in all weather conditions. A positive attitude and commitment to being part of the larger Mt. Abram team are essential.

Pay Rate: $22 per hour or higher based on experience

Snowmakers are responsible for the day-to-day operation of the snowmaking air and water plant, on mountain snow placement and maintenance. Snowmakers must be comfortable working in all weather conditions, negotiate all types of terrain while maneuvering snow making equipment. and be able to work a flexible schedule.

Pay Rate: $20 per hour or higher based on experience

Mt. Abram Patrollers ensure a safe and fun experience for both guests and employees of the mountain.
Responsiblities include:
  • Identification and mitigation of risks both on the slopes and the mountain’s facilities.
  • Patrolling the mountain’s terrain and ensuring a safe and fun experience for both guests and staff.
  • Responding to incidents, treating injuries and providing efficient transport.
  • Maintaining a high level of professionalism and guest service.
Requirements include:
  • High level of physical fitness and preparedness to be outisde in all conditions for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to safely ski/bike all terrain on the mountain in all conditions, and willingness to improve.
  • Ability to lift 50lbs or more while stooping, scooching, crawiling, standing, walking and/or skiing.
  • CPR at the BLS level or higher.
  • Membership with National Ski Patrol.
  • Medical experience preferred as an OEC Technician.
  • WFR, EMT, and RN certifications are acceptable but will need plan to obtain OEC.

The Snow Sports Instructor is responsible for instructing skiers and snowboarders of all ages and abilities to improve their skills, while providing a fun, safe and effective learning environment. Training is provided for new instructors.

Seasonal Program Instructor 

Mt. Abram is hiring Ski and Snowboard Instructors for our Seasonal Program
We are looking for experienced coaches that have worked with children 6 years and up, or
skiers with coaching experience such as soccer, field hockey etc. Training will be provided.

 

Seasonal Instructors will teach or help with a group of children for 2 hours on
either, Friday afternoons 1:00-3:00, Saturday mornings at 9:30- 11:30, Saturday afternoons
at 1:00- 3:00, or Sunday mornings at 9:30-11:30. Children’s ages range from 6-17 years old.
The program starts on January 10, 2025 and runs through March 9th. There is no program
on Presidents weekend February 15-16, 2025.

We are seeking a friendly and reliable part-time ticket seller to join our team for the winter season. This position is ideal for individuals who are available on weekends, during school vacation weeks, and on the Monday of Martin Luther King Jr. weekend. As a ticket seller, you will provide excellent customer service, assist guests with purchasing lift tickets, and keep the ticket booth deck clear of snow when needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sell lift tickets and provide information to guests.
  • Ensure accurate cash handling and credit card transactions.
  • Keep the ticket booth deck shoveled and free of snow when necessary.
  • Assist with guest inquiries and provide a positive experience.
  • Work from 8 a.m. until ticket sales slow down for the day.

Qualifications:

  • Friendly, approachable, and customer-focused.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Reliable and punctual with strong attention to detail.
  • Availability on weekends, during school vacation weeks, and for special holidays like MLK Day.
