Maine’s Premier Family Winter Resort! - Week 15

Hello spring skiing lovers,

March and April leads us into the summer months but it’s all White Grass here at Maine’s most happening mountain, Mt Abram. The snowpack is deep and the afternoon temperatures have lent themselves to some fabulous skiing and afternoon “decking”. But what makes Mt. Abram so remarkable, aside from the great skiers, riders and families we attract, a service happy staff, the great food and tunes of the rocking Loose Boots Lounge is the unique Abram variety and excitement. With the East’s best learning terrain feeding the Westside Lodge, and world class grooming, it is never too late to learn or keep improving our favorite winter sports. Skiing and boarding are only two options; throw in telemarking, “boundary to boundary” glade and tree skiing and you have a lot to learn. The snowfields, snow tubing on Maine’s longest tube park, rocket sledding (Mad River style), or boxsledding in our Alternative Snow-Sports Park let Mt Abram offer so much more than any other resort. We are fresh off our last full moon hike (with Dave Hadley’s tequila shrimp –feel that burn!) and will have another night hike this weekend. And one of the Resort’s greatest strengths is our high quality fixed grip chairlifts and two surface lifts (the Sawicki and the Maine T-bar). Once you arrive there’s great snow and open trails ahead because of these lifts. We have never been on wind hold.

This weekend’s forecast is calling for more sunny skies with cooler and groomable night time temps – pretty darn good combination. Here are a few of the things you’ll find when you turn off Rte 26 and Turn on the Magic!
